The Quilon–Shencottah railway line was the first railway line in the erstwhile Travancore state and is more than a century old and was commissioned by the British in 1904. The Kollam–Sengottai branch line (formerly known as Quilon–Shencottah line) was a metre gauge railway line in South India which connects Quilon Junction in Kerala state and Sengottai (also spelled Shencottah) in Tamil Nadu.
